We are in search of a Logistics Operations Analyst to become a vital part of our Petrochemical (CP) team in Houston, TX.

We are looking for a professional in transportation and distribution to join our North America Petrochemicals Supply Chain team. Reporting to the Transportation and Distribution Manager, your role will involve overseeing the overall effectiveness and performance of maritime logistics for our Petrochemicals sector. Your responsibilities will encompass managing the barge fleet, power units, deep-sea vessels, terminals, surveyors, and all associated agencies involved in maritime operations. This role is dynamic, and responsibilities may vary based on business requirements and cross-training within the team.

As a Logistics Operations Analyst, you will contribute by:

  • Collaborating with Product Managers, Planning teams, Service Providers, Site Logistics teams, Export Managers, and Procurement teams to oversee and evaluate fleet performance and operational costs related to maritime logistics.
  • Managing the Petrochemicals barge fleet and power units to fulfill customer demands in the Gulf Coast region, coordinating lightering operations across various sites and third-party terminals within our network.
  • Conducting analyses and tracking costs to pinpoint areas for service enhancements, cost optimization, and process improvements, driven by analytical methodologies and monitored through Transportation & Distribution Performance KPIs.
  • Leading the internal maritime application system, Dolphin, to enhance solutions and efficiencies (e.g., Lanes Optimization, Track & Trace, Temperature Monitoring, Delivery Prioritization, etc.).
  • Analyzing diverse data types, including vessel movements, shipping routes, port operations, cargo volumes, weather patterns, and regulatory compliance data. Utilizing statistical techniques and software tools, the analyst will identify trends, patterns, and anomalies to extract valuable insights.
  • Overseeing monthly invoices, performing audits and approvals using our ERP systems such as SAP and PBI tools. You will validate costs, address invoice discrepancies, and collaborate with vendors to rectify, validate, or automate resolutions.
  • Participating in and leading projects, meetings, and implementations with internal business partners, service platforms, customers, and external service providers.
  • Establishing and refining work procedures and processes that align with company and departmental standards.

If you possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of the Maritime industry and experience with SAP R/3 and sales order processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, presentation, and communication skills.
