Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Project Controls QS Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in project management by providing support in take-offs, change order reviews, invoice scrutiny, and quantity verifications. Additionally, this role will involve leveraging data analytics expertise to review and report on project data. This will be a long term contract with eligibility to move to direct hire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take-Offs and Quantity Verifications: Conduct detailed take-offs from engineering drawings and measure installed quantities accurately to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Change Order Reviews: Assist in reviewing change orders to assess their impact on project costs and schedules.
  • Invoice Review: Scrutinize invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual terms.
  • Data Analytics: Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to analyze project data, identify trends, and generate actionable insights.
  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports on project performance, including cost and schedule variances, productivity metrics, and
  • forecasting.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering and Construction teams to align project controls processes with project execution activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in project controls.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong background in Engineering and Construction with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in performing take-offs and measuring installed quantities accurately.
  • Experience in project controls functions such as change order management and invoice review.
  • Data analytics skills with proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while handling complex project data.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the petrochemical or related industry.
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Certification in project management or related field (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP, CCP).
