Duties/Responsibilities:

· Implement preventative maintenance program for site based heavy duty construction and paving equipment and haulage trucks.

· Ensure that equipment and machinery in good working order and defects noted to the Equipment Manager.

· Prepare a list for maintenance and spare parts as required.

· Responsible for stock control of equipment spares, consumables, etc.

· Maintain and secure work tools.

· Cleaning and maintenance of work area and stores

· Ensure that equipment maintenance and repairs work are carried out in a safe manner.

· Replaces or repairs interior parts as needed.

· Welds and otherwise attaches or fits parts into place.

· Attempts to complete work orders within labor time guidelines.

· Ensures all work has been executed correctly by inspecting vehicles after repair.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Thorough understanding of methods and procedures for equipment and vehicle repair.

· Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade.

Education and Experience:

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Must have at least 2 years of experience.

 

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to work safely in a noisy area.

· Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.

· Must be able to visually inspect vehicles in a variety of weather conditions.

· Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
