Job DescriptionJob Description

The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. This individual will collaborate closely with the HR team, finance department, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate payroll administration. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of payroll procedures and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Process payroll accurately and on time for all employees, including salaried, hourly, and commissioned workers.
  2. Review and verify timesheets, attendance records, and other relevant documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  3. Calculate and process deductions, including taxes, benefits, garnishments, and other withholdings.
  4. Maintain accurate records of employee data, including new hires, terminations, changes in salary or benefits, and other relevant information.
  5. Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, tax withholdings, deductions, and other related matters.
  6. Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare reports for management as needed.
  7. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
  8. Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll regulations and implement necessary updates to payroll processes and procedures.
  9. Collaborate with the HR team to ensure seamless integration between payroll and other HR functions, such as benefits administration and employee onboarding.
  10. Assist with special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.


CANDIDATE PROFILE
Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in payroll administration or related role.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred, but not required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
