Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic team specializing in jet charter operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance, with a particular focus on the unique financial aspects of the aviation industry. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring the financial health and compliance of our jet charter operations.

What you will be doing:
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide insights into the financial performance of our jet charter operations.
  • Collaborate with management to develop annual budgets and forecasts for the jet charter division, monitoring performance against budgeted targets and providing variance analysis.
  • Communicate closely with maintenance, flight crew, and operations to ensure accurate financial reporting, budget adherence, and any potential discrepancies.
  • Monitor and control costs related to jet charter operations, including fuel expenses, maintenance costs, crew expenses, and other operational expenditures, to optimize profitability.
  • Manage the billing process for charter services provided to clients and aircraft owners, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of invoicing and collections.
  • Utilize financial and aviation industry software, including QuickBooks, JetInsight, and EBIS.
  • Stay abreast of tax regulations and compliance requirements specific to the aviation industry, prepare and file tax returns, and ensure adherence to tax laws.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks within the jet charter division, providing recommendations for improvement and growth.
  • Ensure compliance with aviation regulatory requirements related to financial reporting, tax filings, and other financial matters.
  • Continuously review and enhance accounting processes and procedures to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and maintain accuracy.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management, leveraging financial expertise to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required, a CPA certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of accounting experience is required, preferably in the aviation industry or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, experience with aviation-specific accounting software is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide meaningful insights.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong change management skills with the ability and confidence to influence stakeholders
  • Possess a high level of integrity with an emphasis on teamwork, growth, and customer service.
Compensation
The base compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000 annually. Exact compensation may vary based on the chosen candidate’s skills and experience.

Physical Requirements
To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, the employee must be able to:
