The science team with Russell Tobin, a multinational Manufacturing and Automotive company is seeking a Product Engineer in San Antonio, TX

The Product Engineer will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary team to support medical device redesign projects.
The Product Engineer will have the opportunity to participate in product/process change submissions and engineering documentation creation.
The Product Engineer is responsible for driving the Time-To-Resolution of all engineering related issues assigned to him/her either as part of supporting a project in a cross-functional team or as individual contributor.

Pay rate: $38-$42/hr, DOE

Responsibility:

  • Responsible for organizing, planning, monitoring, controlling and scheduling the necessary activities of medium to large scale projects to achieve goals.
  • Communicate and coordinate action items with resources between competencies (quality, engineering, research & development, manufacturing, global planning, global supply) to take the re-design of a product into production.
  • Requires strong technical writing in support of Engineering Change Plans.
  • Manage multiple project timelines, resources and responsibilities to achieve team and departmental goals.
  • Lead the implementation of labeling design efforts on design change initiatives.
  • Oversee execution of project deliverables as assigned.
  • Interface with various departments of Solventum (locally and internationally) to drive projects forward.
  • Work with Manufacturing and other Product Development engineers to ensure that products are optimally designed for manufacturing.
  • Conduct and/or participate in brainstorming sessions to identify creative ideas and unique solutions
  • May oversee or coordinate the work of engineers, draftsmen, technicians and other positions that assist in specific assignments when requested.
  • Follow Design Control procedures and comply with requirements of 21CFR820 Quality System Regulations, ISO 13485 and ISO 14971 as applicable.
  • Conforms to, supports and enforces all Company policies and procedures
  • Participates in all reasonable work activities as may be deemed suitable and assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in biomedical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Electrical, or similar Engineering disciplines
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Experience in regulated design environments a must – specifically medical device development, Federal Drug Administration (FDA) or ISO 13485 registered.
  • Experience with Engineering Change Orders and PLM systems.
  • Hands-on experience with design controls
  • Excellent understanding of fundamental mechanical principles.Organized.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products: Excel, Word, Project

Nice to have:

  • Experience with laminates and adhesives is desirable.
  • Experience with sterile medical device disposables is highly preferred.
