Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for various functions within the Accounting Department ranging from processing customer/vendor invoices to preparing/calculating general journal entries and completing general ledger/bank reconciliations to ensure the accurate and timely recording and reporting of the Company’s accounting-related transactions.

Duties:

  • Assists in the coordination of departmental efforts to close the books monthly in a consistent, timely, and accurate manner.

  • Responsible for fixed asset records and administration as well as the maintenance and reconciliation of the Company’s fixed assets activity and records (additions, disposals, depreciation expense, etc.).

  • Entry into and maintenance of the Company’s assets and related liabilities databases.

  • Responsible for entering intercompany-related transactions and balancing the intercompany receivables and payables.

  • Assist in all areas within the Accounting Department, as needed.

  • Assists with internal and external party queries and information requests.

  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business where accounting curriculum is required.

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience required.

  • Full-charge bookkeeping experience is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong knowledge of general and technical financial accounting and cost accounting procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP.

  • Strong experience in all functional areas of accounting (A/R, A/P, P/R, G/L, F/A, etc.).

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and/or tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

  • Knowledge of Viewpoint Spectrum (ERP) is preferred.

  • Ability to work hours necessary to meet organizational and financial accounting deadlines.
