Summary

This position is a Supervisory Accountant, GS- 0510-14 working for FIN Financial Systems/FBMS Operations.

This position is location negotiable. The salary will be based upon duty station and locality pay once selected. Please note: if selected, you may be placed at a regional office, field office, currant duty station, or other DOI owned or leased worksite at the discretion of management. Additional question regarding placement should be reserved for the interview process.

Duties

As a Supervisory Accountant your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Performs a variety of top-level accounting and financial management functions to include formulating and communicating a variety of major financial management policies. Practices, techniques, and procedures that guide financial work throughout the bureau headquarters and subordinate management levels and organizations. Participates in decision-making sessions with top organizational management officials, and advises program managers on regulatory requirements, financial policies, the interpretation of data, and the importance of accounting data to program operations and improvements. Develops organizational accounting and financial policy that may cover the full range realm of accounting and financial activities, and the requirements of laws and regulations. Develops policy guidelines for program users. Analyzes, interprets, and oversees the implementation of accounting standards developed by GAO and OMB, advising management on the implications of the new standards and expected impacts relative to implementation, coordinating with financial and program officials to ensure effective implementation of required accounting standards. Supervises, plans, organizes and directs a staff of Accountants, Financial Analysts and other administrative staff through subordinate leaders. Develops staff objectives, policies, guidelines, and evaluates the operations and services of the Branch/Service Delivery Area.
