Sr. Field Sales Engineer _ Electronic Connectors

Our Client a leading manufacturer of Hi-speed connectors, backplanes and cable assemblies for the Data com industry has an immediate opening for a Field Sales Engineer. As a Field Sales Engineer you will be responsible as part of a global account team for managing one of their major Hyperscale Data center accounts you will interface with the customers product development engineering teams, and internal marketing, and engineering teams. You will sell and promote all of the division’s products within an assigned territory and to defined accounts, via successful design win (AVL) activities and total channel management. Increase penetration focused on identifying new business opportunities with Cloud Infrastructure providers such as hyperscale data centers that provide AI, data storage, streaming services, and other cloud based computer services.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
⦁Promote and sell Commercial Interconnects with an established Cloud Service Provider (CSP) customer
⦁Support Global Account efforts to identify all commercial interconnect opportunities/ applications of the company’s products
⦁Lead technical efforts to work with a customer’s engineering team to design in new products, solve interconnect problems, and respond to technical inquires
⦁Develop and implement sales plan and growth strategy for the CSP customer
⦁Meet and exceed established sales quota and strategic objectives via new design wins and Management of the entire sales channel
⦁Motivate existing and potential customers to increase product content on the design
⦁Provide customer service by supplying information related to samples, delivery dates, part drawings and specifications, and responding to any issues/concerns, etc.
⦁Track orders and revenue by customer
⦁Communicate with internal sales and marketing team to provide customer feedback
⦁Keep informed of new products and other general information of interest to customers
⦁Develop a thorough understanding of the market and competition in your territory
⦁Some travel required
QUALIFICATIONS:
⦁Bachelors in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a Business/Marketing technical aptitude
⦁5+ years of experience in sales or applications engineering of electrical components/interconnects.
⦁Field sales experience or related experience within the interconnect industry (inside sales or customer service with interconnect, passive, electromechanical components)
⦁Experience selling in to hyperscale data center customers.
⦁Knowledge of international business practices a plus

Sales skills to successfully negotiate a technical design win, approved vendor status, contracts, and customer partnership.
⦁Self-motivated and driven to identify, qualify, and pursue new customers and new markets
⦁Ability to effectively communicate across the engineering and managerial functions of a business.
⦁Technically astute with an ability to acquire extensive product and application knowledge, with an ability to assess, and provide solutions for, customer design challenges/needs.
⦁Interpersonal skills to effectively work with colleagues and external customers.
⦁Strong oral and written communications to provide high level customer service and build relationships.
⦁Organizational skills to anticipate, prioritize, plan, organize to meet and exceed strategic objectives.
⦁Leadership skills to assess and drive new opportunities in a global account environment
⦁Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
