Job Title: General Accountant

Reports to: Director of Finance
Job Summary:
The company is looking for an enthusiastic, positive, determined, yet personable individual with experience for the General Accountant position. This person will provide financial, clerical, and administrative services to ensure efficient, timely and accurate monitoring and reconciliation of accounts. The individual must be a self-starter. The General Accountant reports directly to the Director of Finance and will be responsible for general account management tasks at a fast-paced equipment dealership. The position requires the ability to develop and maintain a positive, strong professional relationship with various departments within the company as well as our customers and vendors. The General Accountant assists in ensuring accurate reporting, both internally and externally, and is responsible for monitoring and verifying that proper procedures are followed in compliance with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable (A/R) Support:
· Provide backup support for the A/R, prioritizing timely collections on significantly delinquent accounts (over 60 days past due).
· Manage & lead bi-weekly A/R calls with management team.
· Develop and implement high level strategies to minimize overdue balances and improve cash flow.
· Coordinate with the collections team to resolve outstanding issues and negotiate payment plans with clients as needed.
· Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes related to A/R.
Accounts Payable (A/P) Support:
· Provide backup support for Accounts Payable (A/P), ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all A/P transactions within the accounting system.
· Assist with managing the expense platform, ensuring proper setup and accuracy of all expense entries.
· Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes related to A/P.
General Ledger Management:
· Perform regular balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of general ledger accounts.
· Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
· Assist in the preparation of financial statements and related reports.
Internal Reporting and Analysis:
· Generate and analyze financial reports for internal customers.
· Prepare and submit sales tax returns for AZ & NV, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
· Provide support for the year-end audit, ensuring accurate documentation, timely responses, and thorough preparation of financial records.
· Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives as required.
Qualifications:
· Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting is a must.
· At least 2-3 years of experience working as an accountant.
· Must have prior experience in A/P and A/R or possess a strong understanding of A/P and A/R functions.
· Prior experience in collections is required.
· Preferred, but not required dealership experience.
· Preferred experience working with inventory and fixed assets.
· Computer literacy required, such as proficiency with Microsoft Office 2010 suite or newer (Excel is a must).
· Must have experience in account reconciliations and managing large quantities of information.
Additional:
· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
· Experience with ERP systems, such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle, is a huge plus.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
