Overview:

The Manufacturing Technician is a full-time position in a growing team of dedicated medical device manufacturing professionals working on an innovative, next generation magnetic implant and delivery system. This person will join the Manufacturing / Operations team and be responsible for the shipping and receiving of components and products, as well as assembly of devices and mechanical and electrical testing of sub-assemblies, assemblies and products.

Job Description:

The successful candidate must:

·     Be able to operate common cleanroom medical device manufacturing equipment to assemble and test assemblies.

·     Be able to understand and interpret 2D drawings and be able to provide input on required changes.

·     Be able to read, follow, and provide input on manufacturing and testing methodologies.

·     Be able to work independently under general / minimal supervision.

·     Contribute to the prototype assembly process.

·     Maintain a clean, organized workspace.

·     Be able to communicate clearly and update procedures and manufacturing travelers as required.

·     Be able to follow standard cGMP/GDP (current good manufacturing/documentation practices) in the documentation of builds.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience Required:

·     4+ years of experience in manufacturing assembly, fixtures, test equipment, and medical device development.

·     Hands-on prototype assembly experience including the ability to operate lab equipment including tensile testers, hand-held force gauges, load cells, 3D printer, adhesive dispensers, laser welders, basic hand tools, etc.

·     Experience with product assembly & testing within a medical quality system

Abilities / Preferred Qualifications:

·     Experience in medical device development, preferably in a small, fast-paced startup environment

·     Experience working in an ISO certified Cleanroom

·     Experience with shipping and receiving

·     Experience in writing and updating Manufacturing Procedures

·     Experience drafting test methods / procedures.

·     Experience in use of electro-mechanical test systems

·     Proficiency with SolidWorks or similar CAD program

·     Manufacturing process development

·     Ability to travel domestically as required

Work Conditions - Physical Requirements:

·     This job requires standing at a machine or lab bench for prolonged periods.

·     This job requires some repetitive motions.

·     This job may require lifting objects weighing up to 50lbs.

·     There are no special environmental concerns (excessive heat or cold, excessively loud noises, etc.).

·     This job has two primary locations – Cleanroom in West Bridgewater and Office in Westwood. Portion of time at each facility is build cycle dependent.
