About the Job

Teaching & Demonstration Case Worker provides in-home case management support services to assigned clients which include: observance of child safety, maintaining home and cleanliness, meal planning, education, self-care, budgeting and other community linkages and resources.

Specific Job Duties

  • Provide weekly in-home teaching and demonstration case management support services to assigned clients which include: observance of child safety, maintaining home and cleanliness, meal planning, education, self-care, budgeting and other community linkages and resources.
  • Assist clients in education of meal planning, budgeting, daily routine of scheduling.
  • Teaching and demonstration of child safety and infant care to caregivers as appropriate.
  • Teaching and demonstration of maintaining home and proper housekeeping, laundry, and other related duties.
  • Work with caregiver(s) and other staff to meet goals/objectives of service plan;
  • Provide housing and community resources; work with clients through completion of process.
  • Acts as advocate on behalf of assigned clients accordingly.
  • Attend weekly scheduled staff and service plan meetings when scheduled.
  • Required to document in-home services and submit in a timely manner according to program requirements.
  • May be required to work additional hours as needed.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • A High School Diploma
  • Bilingual is Spanish and English required.
  • Experience in case management in a social services agency helpful. Experience in Family Preservation or a similar LA County program desirable.
  • Proficiency in a computer database system.
  • Excellent client service, verbal and written communication skills. Language capability in English and Spanish language proficiency desired.
  • The ability to multi-task and follow through on work assignments with a sense of urgency, and work with minimum supervision.
  • Must be able to handle confidentiality of all clients, employees, and management related matter.
  • Valid California Driver License; must provide proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Must be able to work additional hours as needed.
