Accounting Manager/Comptroller
Summary:
The Accounting Manager/Comptroller is responsible for directing the fiscal functions of the corporation in
accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and in accordance with financial management
techniques and practices appropriate within the industry.
This job is located in Dieterich, IL.
Job Duties & Expectations (include but not limited to):
· Safeguard assets and assure accurate and timely recording of all transaction by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across departments
· Lead contact for preparation and execution of Fiscal Year Annual audit
· Manage accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general and entity accounting, costing accounting, Human Resources, and Operations
· Review monthly financial statements for the CEO and Board of Directors.
· Prepare, maintain, and report budgets for Capital Projects and Profit and Loss on a quarterly basis to Finance Committee.
· Prepare Annual Budget recommendation consistent with organizational goals, and present to the Board and CEO for approval.
· Supervise the team and tasks within the accounting department
· Manage multiple general ledgers for outside shared services department.
· Supervise a parent company with wholly owned subsidiaries and ability to coordinate consolidated financial statements.
· Manage commercial banking relationships to facilitate an appropriate credit resource to maximize economic performance of a loan facility.
· Interface and maintain contact with outside audit firm, banks, casualty/liability insurance agent
· Track, fill-out and submit Rural Development reports, as needed
· Evaluate, review and develop an employee health insurance program. Re-evaluating annually.
· Responsible for multi-peril (P&C) and Worker’s Compensation Insurance Program. Reviewed annually with legal counsel
· Develop an operational dashboard to track performance against company targets
· Assist Business Development in pricing models to support quotes to new Municipality prospects
· Assist Utility Superintendent with Cost of Production analysis and provide tools for Operational analysis and improvement

Qualifications:
· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and complaints. Effective and persuasive presentation skills on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups and/or board of directors.
· Must be able to calculate figures and amounts for all bookkeeping, payroll, budgets, statistical analysis and probability statements.
· Must use the utmost discretion in all presentations, correspondence and communication for staff, Board of Directors and CEO.
· Must be technology inclined. Advanced to Expert level proficiency in Quick books and Microsoft Excel, knowledge of Microsoft Office, and Google Drive

· Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year College or University; Master’s preferred.
· Candidate must have five or more years of related experience and/or training, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
· CPA, CFA or CMA certification is preferred, but not required.
