Job Description:
The Technician II role is responsible for understanding our technology goals, operating wafer fab equipment, using wet film application equipment (spin coaters, spray coaters, ovens, etc.), and documenting the results, executing experiments in collaboration or with direction from the engineering team, and communicating process feedback to the broader team to help qualify and continuously improve the manufacturing of glucose sensors. In this position, you will make critical contributions to the development of our core technologies.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Run processes involved with manufacturing medical devices within a cleanroom environment.
  • Document activities and observations associated with the characterization of processes, qualification of processes, and manufacturing of parts.
  • Work comfortably independently and/or with a fabrication team.
  • Execute to engineering protocols with a trained eye for defects and/or abnormalities to ensure quality product is manufactured.
  • Contribute to the assembly and functionalization of glucose sensors in cleanroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the science and engineering teams to develop, test and analyze electrochemical sensors from concept to manufacturing.
  • Partner with science and engineering teams to implement new sensor designs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Sound hand/eye coordination and comfortable working with small parts, handling chemicals, and operating process equipment.
  • Familiarity with and comfortable in cleanroom work environment and procedures
  • Strong oral communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for extended periods. Most of the work is to be performed in a clean room, which requires special
gowning procedures. The duties often include inspections which require the use of a microscope and tweezers.

Additional Physical requirements:

  • Basic ability to safely handle chemicals.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs.
  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours in a single day while in the cleanroom.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with medical devices
  • Experience working with processes that result in thin films of chemistry applied to a substrate
  • Experience documenting work performed and Good Documenting Practices (GDP)
  • Comfortable using microscopes and tweezers to perform work
  • Prior start-up experience with the ability to quickly adapt to a fast-paced and fast-changing environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary Range: $22-$27 per hour

Job offer is contingent on positive completion of a background check.
