Position Overview:
The Central Services Technician II plays a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety for surgical instruments and equipment. This position is essential in ensuring that all instruments are properly cleaned, decontaminated, inspected, assembled, packaged, and sterilized, supporting our mission to provide exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute cleaning and decontamination processes for surgical instruments and equipment.
- Inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize instruments to meet regulatory standards.
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment effectively.
- Prioritize tasks and manage workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- A minimum of two years of experience with surgical instrumentation is essential.
- Prior experience in central service or surgical technology is required.
- Completion of a Sterile Processing Program or Surgical Technology Program is mandatory.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification is required.
Skills:
- Proficient computer skills.
- In-depth knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterilization techniques.
- Ability to adhere to safety protocols regarding blood and body fluid precautions.
- Competence in operating CSP equipment and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Work Environment:
This position is classified as a regular full-time role with evening shifts.
