Job Summary:

The Insurance Product Manager is responsible for the development, management, and optimization of insurance products. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of the insurance industry, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The candidate should be adept at presenting complex information clearly and engagingly to large groups, including clients, senior management, and industry professionals. Preferred candidate has experience in the Texas Homeowners insurance market to uniquely address multi-peril risk.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Product Development and Management:
    • Lead the end-to-end product development process from ideation to launch.
    • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
    • Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, claims, operations and IT teams to design and refine insurance products.
    • Develop product specifications, pricing strategies, and marketing plans.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Liaise with internal departments (e.g., sales, marketing, IT) to ensure alignment on product goals and objectives.
    • Work closely with senior management to define product vision and strategy.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with external partners, including carrier partners and reinsurers.
  3. Performance Analysis and Reporting:
    • Monitor product performance metrics and conduct regular reviews.
    • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
    • Prepare and present detailed reports and updates to senior management.
    • Experience managing a portfolio to targeted PML to premium ratios, loss ratios or any other internal targets.
    • Experience evaluating reinsurance towers to support the overall profitability of the product and company.
  4. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure all products comply with relevant regulations and standards.
    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with product development and implementation.
    • Work with legal and compliance teams to manage product-related issues.
  5. Presentation and Communication:
    • Develop and deliver presentations to large groups, including clients, industry conferences, and internal stakeholders.
    • Create compelling visual aids and written materials to support presentations.
    • Clearly articulate complex concepts and data in an understandable manner.
  6. Travel
    • Remote worker with ability to travel up to 30%

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of insurance products, regulations, and market trends.

  • Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively plan and prioritize work activities.
  • Ability to work with standard office technology, including Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Excel).

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, Mathematics or a related field. MBA or other advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management within the insurance industry.
  • Experience managing Homeowners product lines.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing insurance products from concept to market.
  • Experience presenting to large audiences and senior executives.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working with different technology platforms
  • Preferred candidate has experience in the Texas insurance market.

Salary: $140,000+ dependent on experience and qualifications
