Description

The Intake Coordinator position is responsible for conducting initial point of contact for MCS Programs and is the primary first point of contact for participants via phone, email, or walk-ins. Intake coordinator duties involve being responsible for developing, overseeing, organizing, storing, timely collection, and data systems while also ensuring data accuracy, security, and adhering to HIPAA/confidentiality requirements. The Intake Coordinator will work with Client Track Staff, to run reports and to create new work groups when necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • ·        Conduct initial intake via Client Track for All MCS Programs: Employment and Career Services, and Family and Community Services, Food Shelf, and (upon occasion) Meals on Wheels, which has its own intake process.
  • ·        Screen calls and walk-ins for services.
  • ·        Ensure data is collected, processed, validated, and stored in a timely (usually daily) and accurate manner.
  • ·        Refer participants to appropriate MCS Programs internally or externally to community resources.
  • ·        Create Standard Operating Procedures for Intake.
  • ·        Assist in on-boarding staff members with Client Track. 
  • ·        Provide back-up for Front desk/Reception area, when necessary.
  • ·        Attend all Merrick’s meetings and events, as scheduled.
  • ·        Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • Requires a minimum of an Associate Degree, with a focus on social and human services, social work, family services or a related field of study or a combination of training and experience providing equivalent knowledge; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Proven experience working effectively with a population that is diverse, inclusive and socio-economically challenged.
  • Knowledge of other community services available through networking.
  • · Must be strength-based, self-motivated, goal-oriented, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • · Ability to deal with challenging situations in a calm, fair but effective and professional manner.
  • · Ability to model respectful, inclusive, and responsible behavior that is consistent with the agency mission, vision, and values.
  • ·Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality.
  • ·Cooperative team member who can work independently and possess effective time management skills.
  •   Strong computer skills in the use of MS Office and experience with Client Track is a plus.
  •  Ability to maintain databases, management and tracking systems, based on intake forms, PSOP, and the requirements of Funders and Merrick Community Services.
  • Bilingual proficiency preferred (Hmong, Spanish or Karen)
  • This position requires a valid Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle to travel locally.
