Excellent Michigan Law Firm is seeking an Employment-based Immigration Attorney for 8-9 months, starting in August.

As an Immigration Attorney, you will be part of a team that help our clients navigate work visa issues for all employment types. Working with clients in a variety of industries and needs.

  • Work with clients to develop and implement legal strategies for work visa matters, with a focus on employment-based visas.  Examples of visas include: Employment based and PERM, Family based Permanent Residence Petitions Non-Immigrant Petitions (H-1B/Specialty Occupation, J-1/ Exchange Visitor, L-1/Intracompany Transfers, O-1/Extraordinary Ability, TN/ NAFTA); Employer Compliance (I-9 Audits and H-1B Public Access File Audits); J-1 waivers
  • You'll introduce and guide clients thru visa application processes and coordinate with clients to gather detailed supporting information and evidence
  • You'll answer questions about visa application process steps, timelines
  • You'll prepare and file visa applications with the appropriate government offices, in collaboration with fellow Attorneys and Paralegals
  • You'll prepare responses to Requests for Evidence issued by government agencies
  • You'll research legal issues related to visa applications and stay informed on immigration law

Qualifications:

  • We’re seeking candidates who possess a JD, licensed to practice in the state of Michigan
  • Have experience with Immigration law, employment-based visa applications, serving corporate clients
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a busy caseload while being flexible to re-prioritize
  • Able to collaborate professionally and effectively with team members
  • Demonstrate clear communication skills
  • Conduct frequent, and sometimes repetitive, correspondence with clients summarizing their application processes and answering their questions
