Location
Hybrid, Greater Boston. This job opportunity offers a hybrid work arrangement, we are specifically seeking candidates who are comfortable with on-site attendance in our Portsmouth office minimum 2 days per week.
Position Overview
The Controller will be responsible for overseeing and enhancing the financial management of Cirrus Systems. This role involves leading a high-performing accounting team, leveraging technology and automation to streamline operations, and ensuring comprehensive financial reporting and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a background in manufacturing with experience in developing and maintaining a standard inventory cost system.
Responsibilities
Comprehensive Financial Reporting: Provide timely and detailed financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting relevant data points.
Strategic Financial Guidance: Guide financial decisions by applying company policies and procedures to the current economic landscape, focusing on innovation and adaptation.
Leverage Technology and Automation: Utilize cutting-edge financial software to build automation into business processes, ensuring streamlined and efficient operations.
Financial Controls and Guidelines: Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls and guidelines to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
Cash Forecasting: Provide forward-looking cash forecasts on a weekly basis to guide real-time decision-making.
Team Leadership: Oversee and support the accounting team with dynamic leadership, fostering an environment of trust, productivity, and technological innovation.
Financial Management and Compliance: Oversee budgeting, payroll efficiency, operational strategy, revenue and cost management, and internal controls; ensure legal compliance, maintain inventory accuracy, and establish financial benchmarks and reporting standards.
Skills and Qualifications
Professional Experience: 6-8+ years of professional accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on leveraging technology and experience in a manufacturing environment.
Deep understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis, with effective use of financial software.
Working knowledge of national and local tax regulations and compliance reporting.
Experience in managing payroll with a focus on streamlining and automating accounting processes.
Proven track record of financial project management with successful implementation of tech-focused solutions.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
