We are seeking an experienced Legal Assistant to provide comprehensive support to our attorneys, helping to manage the full lifecycle of legal proceedings. This role is critical in maintaining the effectiveness of our legal strategies and client interactions. Please note, this position is based in our main office, a communal space shared with other businesses, and requires the candidate to work independently on-site while collaborating with a remote team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research to support legal proceedings, including gathering relevant case law, statutes, and regulations.
  • Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
  • Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes and provide support to attorneys during settlement discussions.
  • Communicate with clients, court personnel, and other parties in a professional and courteous manner, both in person and over the phone.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations relevant to client cases.
  • Record and accurately store client information in accordance with firm procedures and confidentiality standards.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers, such as process servers and court reporters, as needed.
  • Assist with billing tasks, including generating invoices, tracking billable hours, and processing client payments.

Requirements:

  • 5 years experience in a similar role.
  • Previous experience as a paralegal or in another legal support role preferred.
  • Familiarity with legal research methods and resources.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
