Accounting Specialist

Reporting to ownership, the Accounting Specialist independently charges the bookkeeping portion of the accounting department of one for an established and growing product design and manufacturing company. Ensuring accuracy is applied, the Accounting Specialist primarily focuses on AP, AR, credit card statements, and partners with our external accounting contractor to support the needs of the business. This position is uniquely designed to balance quality of life and work and averages five hours per day in the office. This opportunity would be a great fit for someone who enjoys career flexibility and not bringing work home with them.
Responsibilities
- Manage cash flow, AP, AR, and expense reconciliation.
- Coordinate POs and invoices with production team balancing received product with billed invoices.
- Partner with Purchasing for questions and edits for billing.
- Supervise daily and period-closing activities during the monthly close process.
- Review and approve bank and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Provide month-end financials.
- Provide weekly cash position reports to owners and coordinate payments including wire and ACH requests.
- Be able to work in teams/collaboratively with others to create optimal solutions to support and grow the business while assisting other departments to train, develop, audit, etc.
- Work within an ERP system and properly communicate as needed - keeping coworkers and supervisors informed.
- Maintain flexibility as unassigned requests for special projects are submitted periodically.
- Follow both verbal and written directives.
- Perform other assigned duties as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
- Two+ years of experience within accounting functions
- Two+ years of product engineering/manufacturing industry experience
- Ability to run reporting and understand manufacturing ERP systems (GSS, SAP, etc.)
- Confidence, stability, and capability are highly desired soft skills
