Cordelia Lighting Inc. is a manufacturer and distributor of quality residential and commercial lighting products located in Rancho Dominguez, California, is currently seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist. 

As a valued member of our Accounting Department, you will collaborate with a team of individuals who possess exceptional attitudes, strong motivation, excellent organization, meticulous attention to detail, and proficient analytical abilities. Your main responsibilities are ensuring the accuracy and completeness of daily accounts payable, resolving discrepancies, and payments to vendors.

  • Job Responsibility & Duties

Daily:

  • Code and process invoices by reviewing the invoice totals and confirming authorized signatures.
  • Maintain electronic filing of accounts payable documents.
  • Review inventory invoices against modem data to verify accuracy.
  • Match and code expense purchase orders against accounts payable invoices.
  • Confirm cost breakdown for Direct Import and Inventory shipments.
  • Update cost breakdown calculation spreadsheet to include all landed cost information.

Weekly:

  • Prepare accounts payable payment requirements report.
  • Record landed cost details for incoming inventory to facilitate month-end accruals.
  • Process employee reimbursements by reviewing expense receipts and verifying approval signatures.

Bi-Weekly:

  • Process check run and distribute payment on timely manner.

Monthly:

  • Prepare accounts payable accrual for month end GL entry
  • Process sales commission payments by preparing sales commission statement with commission report.

Annually:

  • Participate in annual inventory physical count and auditing.
  • Participate in annual audit process.

As Needed:

  • Update vendor information
  • Follow up pending issues with related team independently per policy and procedures.
  • Perform special assignment from manager or supervisor.

 Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years proven experience in accounts payable or general accounting roles.
  • Working knowledge of the basic accounting functions.
  • Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of information as appropriate.
  • Proficiency in the Excel and ERP Systems
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management, analytical and organizational skills; strong attention to detail
  • Regular and timely attendance.
