Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for a, Senior Nuclear Project Manager, for a 24-month contract assignment supporting the modernization of TVA’s three nuclear plants.  The project will be coordinated through the Chattanooga office and works a 4/10’s schedule, approximately 50% remote/50% office and site visits.

Project Overview:

This role is responsible for managing assigned projects to ensure that safety, environmental, quality, budget, and schedule goals are achieved.  Successful project outcomes are achieved through collaboration, negotiation, and influencing of assigned project teams, as well as internal and external stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities:

  • RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OVERALL PLANNING, DIRECTION, MANAGEMENT, COORDINATION, IMPLEMENTATION, EXECUTION, CONTROL AND COMPLETION OF SPECIFIC PROJECTS ACCORDING TO SPECIFICATIONS, WITHIN BUDGET COST FROM INITIATION THROUGH COMPLETION.
  • LEADS JOINT PROJECT TEAMS, APPLIES PROFESSIONAL PRINCIPLES, PRACTICES AND TECHNIQUES TO CONTROL PROJECT SCHEDULE, COST AND PERFORMANCE RISK.
  • ENSURE PROJECT IS COMPLETED WITHIN A CERTAIN SET OF RESTRAINTS (E.G., TIME, BUDGET, PEOPLE, QUALITY, MATERIALS) AND A HIGH LEVEL OF QUALITY.
  • THIS ROLE IS GENERALLY ASSIGNED LARGE MULTIFACETED PROJECTS.
  • SERVES AS THE SINGLE POINT OF CONTACT REGARDING A SPECIFIC PROJECT AND ASSUMES THE LEADERSHIP ROLE IN SAFELY MANAGING THE PROJECT.
  • CAPABILITY TO MANAGE LARGE PROJECT BUDGET OVER $25 MILLION, OR A PORTFOLIO OF PROJECTS THAT HAVE AN AGGREGATE TOTAL OVER $75 MILLION FOR ALL ACTIVE PROJECTS ASSIGNED.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Master’s degree preferred but not required
  • 10+ years utility project manager experience, or equivalent functional area, work experience with increasing levels or position responsibility
  • Requires knowledge of project management techniques and practical experience in project scoping and cost estimating
  • Requires ability to analyze in-depth technical problems and determine the most cost-effective solution
  • Requires ability to look beyond existing methodologies and own discipline to define and resolve complex problems.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification as Project Management Professional (PMP) within one year of appointment of assuming the Senior PM position.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure is desirable
