Coogee Titanium is the U.S. Subsidiary of Coogee located in Ottawa, Illinois. We are seeking an experienced Quality & EHS Manager to actively lead Coogee's quality and safety programs.   • Essential Duties:
  • Manage quality & EHS standards, compliance and critical control measures to mitigate risk factors.
  • Work closely with production team and Senior Process Engineer to expand the effectiveness and efficiency of quality & EHS programs.
  • Oversee Coogee’s laboratory including control sample testing, proficiency and post-analytic testing procedures.
  • Obtain and manage all necessary lab accreditation (ISO/IEC17025)
  • Develop and implement company procedures and evaluation processes to assure compliance with federal ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations).
  • Manage regulatory and non-regulatory compliance and certifications including, but not limited to, AS9100, ISO9001, ISO14001
  • Collaborate with vendors, suppliers and other external partners to coordinate satisfactory handling of compliant product.
  • Conduct swift investigations of any product that does not conform to standards. • Consult with applicable federal, state and local legal regulatory agencies to meet quality compliance requirements and standards.
  • Update Quality & EHS manuals and procedures in document control system and perform active coaching, training and mentoring to employees.
  • Exemplify a strong commitment to industry best practices.
  • Coordinate regulatory inspections and establish external partnerships to assist with compliance regulations and resolution of inspections and or audits.
  • Manage industrial hygiene and environmental processes that demonstrate continuous improvement.
  • Develop strategies toward preventing accidents, eliminating safety hazards, waste minimization, and pollution prevention.
  • Perform routine risk assessments to identify critical EHS hazards; establish targets and lead objectives.
  • Manage and coordinate plant safety, security and loss control efforts. • Manage company protective equipment and safety devices for equipment and machines during start up or new installations.
  • Lead and train employees in safety induction and risk assessments. • Lead all incident investigations and conduct responses in a thorough and timely manner. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree Required – Engineering or Sciences discipline or Industrial Management preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. • 3-5 years’ experience within Quality/EHS profession
  • In-depth knowledge of QMS and EMS systems (ISO9001, AS9100, ISO14001). • Familiarity with U.S. government contracting (i.e. FAR, DFAR, DOD regulations). • Some travel (20%) may be required
  • Competencies:
  • Knowledge and ability to interpret AS9100, ISO9001 and other federal, state and local regulations.
  • Advanced knowledge of quality compliance in manufacturing technologies, processes, measures used and post-analytics.
  • Advanced comprehension of process improvement management and its applicability to production.
  • Ability to effectively manage cross functional process and quality improvement teams. • Superior communication skills:
  • Ability to work efficiently with external contractors, compliance and regulatory agency representatives.
  • Ability to respond to agency inspection inquiries and manage confidential or urgent information appropriately.
  • Ability to meet task and regulatory deadlines. Physical requirements: • Ability to occasionally perform lifting of 25-50 pounds.
  • Ability to access second story buildings and mezzanines. • Ability to traverse property in all conditions and perform physical activity
