*This position is not remote. This candidate will be expected to report to our Center in Abingdon, MD.
What Do ATS Intake and Referral Specialists do?
Our Intake and Referral Specialists serve as a primary contact for calls, emails and/or website referrals for new clients. They coordinate and execute referrals through collaboration with families and / or outside referral sources by gathering demographics, insurance information and scheduling needs of consumers and families. They provide an overview of the Assessment and Treatment plan per service line, the service authorization process to families, as well as collaborate with internal departments regarding insurance, authorizations, and the scheduling needs and case load appropriateness to ensure the best outcomes for our clients and their families. This role also includes some general administrative support in one of our center locations.

What Qualifications Do I Need to Join the ATS Team?
- A high school diploma is required, individuals with post-secondary education in a human service field preferred.
- Exceptional communication proficiency, orally and in writing
- Embrace a “people matter” mindset that recognizes all learners (consumers, families and staff) can grow and thrive
- Ability to demonstrate empathy and be a steward of our mission, vision, values and beliefs with both families and community referral sources
- Able to work with teams in an office setting
- Exceptional time-management skills
- Moderate comfort with adapting to new systems
- Flexibility to answer calls or reply to correspondence outside of typical business hours to accommodate families or referral sources with non-traditional availability
- Experience with either an intake, triage or admission process
- Reliable transportation
It Would Be Helpful If You Had:
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and IDD/A experience.
- “Lived experience” within the disability community (especially autism, IDD and/or behavioral health)
- Bilingual fluency preferred but not required
