Job Title: Supply Management Specialist I

Client: Heavy Device Manufacturing Company

Duration: 1 year with possible extension

Location: Cary, NC 27513

Shift: 1st shift (4 days onsite, 1 day remote) Up to 40 hours per week (Flexible start time: 7am-9am)

Description:

  • Provides entry-level sourcing, Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP), and Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP) support.
  • Involves development and execution/enforcement of strategies and contracts for lower value and less complex commodities.
  • Assists with cost models, make vs. buy studies, spend analysis, invoice issue resolution, and other data analyses.
  • Collaborates with Strategic Sourcing to address chronic supplier performance issues and/or validates suppliers during early supplier selection as part of EPDP.
  • Utilizes the Achieving Excellence process to manage supplier performance.

Duties:

  • Executes Order Fulfillment Process (OFP) with cost reduction activities.
  • Analyzes quotations and selects suppliers based on criteria such as quality, cost, process capability, lead time, and supplier stability.
  • Participates in resourcing activities and make vs. buy decisions.
  • Collects cost data and prepares limited supplier cost/industry analyses.
  • Supports Engineering Change Management (ECM) to ensure timely and cost-effective implementation of design changes and product improvements.
  • Develops and executes inventory plans to meet inventory/asset management and material flow goals.
  • Resolves shipping, receiving, invoicing, and payment issues to ensure prompt and accurate supplier payments.
  • Drives continuous improvement in performance and lowest total cost within the Supply Base, utilizing the Achieving Excellence process and criteria.
  • Defines, resolves, and provides permanent solutions to supplier performance issues with the assistance of other functional representatives (e.g., quality, product engineering).
  • Manages day-to-day supplier relationship issues to ensure proper communication.
  • Expedites parts as necessary.

Specific Position Requirements:

  • Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the near future for this position.

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of Order Fulfillment principles with the ability to independently apply the knowledge.
  • Skilled in interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
  • Project management experience.

Preferred:

  • 1-3 years of Supply Management experience.
  • Formal education in Business, Finance/Accounting, Supply Management, or Engineering.
  • Recent graduates would also work well.
