Major global and established company has an opportunity at their site in the Atlanta metropolitan area due to an upcoming retirement for a Regulatory Compliance Manager that will be responsible for ensuring compliance with chemical control and other product-related regulations and for providing legislative advocacy within the Americas region company products across all business lines. Will also be responsible for coordinating PSRA activities with the LRA research and technology, manufacturing and business staff in Americas to ensure good product stewardship, global regulatory compliance and development of sustainable technology. There are major company benefits, 10% bonus potential, a very attractive 401K with matching as well as a relocation package. This is not a travel-oriented role. This important role always involves new challenges. This role allows for 2 days of remote work per week.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Monitor development of chemical-related regulations within the region and develop with the BU and R&D the appropriate plan to mitigate the consequences and to identify the opportunities in terms of new Product/Application developments.
Ø Develop PSRA processes and systems ensuring compliance with new and existing regulations.
Ø Prepare and submit notifications or registrations dossiers to the authorities to enable the compliant marketing of company products in the region.
Ø Assess and communicate the compliance status of company products to internal and external customers.
Ø Interact with the authorities when needed to support ongoing notifications, for requesting clarifications or in case of inspections.
Ø Work in cooperation with the Global Hazard Communication (Hazcom) team to ensure that all required Hazcom documents (eg. MSDS, labels) for products are compliant with current REGIONAL regulations.
Ø Determine and propose to the PSRA Director the regional participation into the business teams, trade associations and advocacy groups.
Ø Manage Product Stewardship Compliance Form submissions through Product Steward Network.
Ø Coordinate activities for multiple plant products.
Ø Train business partners on regulatory requirements affecting products to ensure business compliance.
Ø Manage Product Regulatory Compliance aspect of Management of Change
Ø Responsible for Product Regulatory Compliance of new products through the AIMS process
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
v Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field such as Chemical Engineering or Toxicology is required.
v 10+ years of experience in the Chemical industry. Experience in the coatings/inks industry is a plus.
v 5+ years of experience in US and overseas involving Chemical Regulatory Compliance is needed. Knowledge of FDA or other American or International Chemical Control Laws and Regulations is a plus.
v Fluent English is required. A plus is knowing Spanish or the Portuguese language.
v Could have either technical management or be a senior technical specialist with Chemical Regulatory Compliance.
v Hazcom experience is a plus
v Organic chemistry is best, but will also consider nonorganic.
v Petro chemical experience is a plus.
v Very good communication skills are needed.
