POSITION TITLE: Ministry Relationship Specialist

REPORTS TO: VP, Product Management & Outreach

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Ministry Relationship Specialist connects with Bible Study Leaders’ customers, churches, campus ministries, parachurches, and other organizations to personally let them know about new products and services offered by Precept and to drive product purchases, while also nurturing existing relationships through communications and support functions. Responsible for keeping high value relationships warm and checking in on how progress is going with Precept’s Bible study materials in their environments. Leverages relationships to identify needs of customers and informs the product development and support strategy with findings. Works with the VP of Product Operations and Outreach to identify potential relationships and drive sales revenue.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Relationship Management

  1. Performs administrative support, communication, and coordination as assigned. Assists administration of Training Workshops.
  2. Serves as primary case manager and contact for Bible Study Leaders and outreach support.
  3. Maintains data for Bible Study Leaders, classes, and workshop attendee data with the Online Training Product Manager.
  4. Other duties as assigned.

Outreach

  1. Meet with potential customers remotely and/or in person to deliver product presentations.
  2. Guides customers toward products and experiences that will provide the most value to them.
  3. Understanding and promoting ministry programs, services, and products.
  4. Uses CRM to log customer and purchasing information.
  5. Develop product sales presentations and sales sheets for various programs, as needed.
  6. Mines the ministry database to identify prospective customers.
    1. Identify Bible Study Leaders and organizations who could increase their usage of Precept’s products
    2. Identify and develop opportunities for new customer relationships.
  7. Generates leads and nurtures prospective customer relationships and provides support to existing relationships.
  8. Answer questions about bulk pricing, products, and availability and apply discounts according to discount schedule.
  9. Engage in training programs to develop outreach and sales skills.
  10. Track and analyze sales data to inform future activities.
  11. Use best practice for developing new product-based customer relationships.
  12. Work with Customer Service to receive and take customer orders.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Deep understanding of the Bible study products, ministry programs, services, and training workshops.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software for logging customer and purchasing information.
  • Knowledge of effective sales strategies, techniques, and tools.
  • Understanding of data entry, management, and analysis, particularly relating to customer and workshop attendee data.
  • Familiarity with ministry programs, including outreach strategies and objectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effectively interacting with customers, Bible Study Leaders (BSLs), and internal team members.
  • Ability to create and deliver compelling product presentations and sales sheets.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills to manage support tasks, coordination, and data maintenance.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and identify trends to inform future sales activities and strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with customers, BSLs, and potential clients.
