Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • Manage the entire accounts payable cycle within a high-volume environment, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Perform meticulous 3-way matching of invoices, packing slips, and purchase orders to facilitate seamless processing.
  • Reconcile monthly accounts payable to the general ledger, ensuring alignment and accuracy of financial records.
  • Oversee the timely and accurate processing of 1099 forms, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct thorough reconciliation of vendor statements, proactively resolving discrepancies through research and corrective actions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, providing prompt and professional responses to maintain positive relationships.

Job Requirements for the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • Demonstrated experience with 3-way matching procedures, exhibiting an acute attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, leveraging advanced functions and formulas to streamline data analysis and reporting.
  • Previous exposure to accounting software, with the ability to navigate and utilize relevant features effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact confidently with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Strong technical aptitude, enabling swift adaptation to new technologies and software tools within the accounting domain.

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
