North Central Bus and Equipment (NCBE) has been in the bus industry for over 60 years and has 50 years of upfitting experience and expertise. NCBE is a division of St. Cloud Industrial Products, Inc. (SCIPI). This position is officed at our North Central St. Cloud location. St. Cloud, also known as the Granite City, is home to several parks and attractions highlighting our granite mining history. For example, Quarry Park and Nature Preserve is a 683 acre preserve with 20 former granite quarries and is a great place to swim, scuba, fish, climb, or admire. Due to the travel requirements and territory location, this position is remote 80% or so of the time.


Position Description:
As a Bus Sales Rep, you will be responsible for the sales and marketing of School and Commercial Bus Sales within your territory. The goal of this role is to increase business from existing accounts and to generate new business through prospecting, cold calls, trade associations, and marketing. This position requires calling on established and potential accounts which include School Districts, School Bus Contractors, Public Transit Agencies, Long-term Care Facilities, and other Retail Transportation Customers who purchase buses and vans.


Essential Functions

  • Assist with developing a yearly marketing plan to outline short- and long-term objectives that align with company objectives
  • Manage sales leads and prospecting of new accounts while managing the existing customer base to increase sales and drive profitability
  • Collaborate on new bus sales with Bus Sales Manager, Bus Sales Operations Team, and Service Team to ensure consistency and efficiency across departments
  • Make personal visits to current and potential accounts and assisting at event such as trade shows or open houses.

Performance Measures:

  • Sales call reports submitted via CRM daily
  • Weekly quote activity
  • Monthly and Annual new bus deliveries
  • Meet gross margin targe as set by NCBE

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent oral & written communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Time management skills
  • Excellent organizational and note taking skills

Required Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of sales experience in related industry
  • Valid Driver’s License with good driving record

Preferred Experience:

  • Class B CDL or willingness to obtain
  • 2-year Associates Degree in Sales & Marketing or related field
  • 5+ years sales experience in related industry

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

  • 40+ hours per week
  • 80% of time on the road and 20% of time in the office
  • Ability to be in St. Cloud for training for approximately 1 month
  • Ability to be in St. Cloud 3-6 times per month there after
