We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team and contribute to the highest standards of patient care.
Job Description:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support our gastroenterology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with patient care, performing clinical and administrative tasks, and ensuring smooth operation of the clinic. Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Interaction: Greet and prepare patients for examinations, including obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and patient information.
- Clinical Duties: Assist with gastrointestinal procedures, administer medications as directed, and perform diagnostic tests.
- Documentation: Accurately record patient information in electronic health records (EHR) and ensure that all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulations.
- Administrative Tasks: Schedule patient appointments, manage patient records, and handle phone calls and correspondence.
- Equipment Management: Prepare and sterilize medical instruments, ensure that all equipment is in good working order, and assist with inventory management.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with information about their conditions, treatments, and procedures, and answer their questions as needed.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred, but not required.
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical assistant role, preferably in a gastroenterology or related specialty, is a plus.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, proficiency in EHR systems, ability to handle multiple tasks, and attention to detail.
- Compassion: Demonstrated ability to provide empathetic and patient-focused care.
