Our Gastroenterology Clinics provide a comprehensive array of consultative and procedural services tailored for patients with gastrointestinal ailments, alongside preventive colon cancer screening examinations.
At The Queen's Health System, we prioritize preventive healthcare while offering extensive gastroenterology services aimed at the diagnosis, treatment, and management of digestive system disorders. Our mission is to promote digestive health and enhance overall wellness.
POSITION SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The role involves delivering both inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services at The Queen's Medical Center (QMC), including direct patient care and the education and supervision of residents from the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine, as well as students from various programs.
CLINICAL DUTIES:- Administers gastroenterology (GI) services, including endoscopic procedures for Emergency Room (ER) patients and hospitalized individuals upon request from ER physicians and QMC Medical Staff.
- Provides gastroenterology services at the Queen Emma Clinics, incorporating direct patient care and the education and supervision of students and residents from the John A. Burns School of Medicine and other assigned programs.
- Conducts gastroenterology services at the QMC GI Office.
- Offers on-call gastroenterology coverage for the Medical Center in accordance with established protocols.
- Graduation from an accredited School of Medicine or possession of Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification.
- Board Certified or Board Qualified in Gastroenterology; if board qualified, certification must be obtained within two years of entering the position.
- Possession of a current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the State of Hawaii.
- Eligibility for appointment on the faculty of the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.
The base salary commences at $480,661/year, with opportunities for productivity and quality incentives.
