Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and meticulous Medical Assistant, responsible for facilitating patient care, executing clinical and administrative responsibilities, and ensuring the clinic operates seamlessly. Primary Responsibilities:
- Patient Engagement: Welcome and prepare patients for examinations, including taking vital signs, gathering medical histories, and collecting patient information.
- Clinical Responsibilities: Assist with gastrointestinal procedures, administer medications as instructed, and conduct diagnostic tests.
- Record Keeping: Diligently document patient information in electronic health records (EHR) and maintain compliance with all documentation standards.
- Administrative Duties: Organize patient appointments, manage patient files, and handle communications.
- Equipment Oversight: Prepare and sterilize medical instruments, ensure equipment functionality, and assist with inventory control.
- Patient Education: Provide patients with insights regarding their conditions, treatments, and procedures, addressing any inquiries they may have.
- Collaborative Efforts: Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to guarantee coordinated and effective patient care.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred, but not mandatory.
- Experience: Prior experience in a medical assistant role, particularly in gastroenterology or a related field, is advantageous.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, proficiency in EHR systems, capability to manage multiple tasks, and a keen attention to detail.
- Empathy: Proven ability to deliver compassionate and patient-centered care.
