Job Summary: The Electrical Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical control systems and components to ensure the smooth operation of manufacturing processes and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, control systems, and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical control systems, including PLC programming, HMI development, and SCADA systems.
  • Create and maintain detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
  • Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, and other automation devices.
  • Conduct system testing, validation, and commissioning of control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical controls into new and existing equipment.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for control system issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies in all control systems and processes.
  • Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production teams.
  • Manage projects from concept through implementation, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in electrical control systems and automation technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in electrical controls engineering or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI development, and SCADA systems.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Experience with CAD software for electrical design (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
