Position: Shipping & Receiving Inventory Specialist

Reports to: Parts Manager and General Merchandise Manager

Summary Description:

The primary function of the Shipping & Receiving Associate is to receive, count and label incoming merchandise, pack parts/merchandise for shipping, call for return authorizations and ship returns. Handle all duties relative to merchandise (General Merchandise and Parts & Accessories) receipt and shipment. Ship and receive departmental and/or dealership inventory. Assist in the maintenance of inventory accuracy and control inventory related records. Perform related duties as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

Communicate effectively, detail oriented, computer literate, excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task, knowledge and or experience with shipping and receiving. High school diploma or equivalent and a current, valid driver’s license.

Essential Functions:

  1. Receive incoming merchandise and update information into Talon, accurately and timely.
  2. Ensure packing list has parts and quantities listed accurately. Report and discrepancies immediately.
  3. Prepare, pack and ship items that need to be returned to appropriate vendor or customer.
  4. Utilize shipping vendors that offer the best value and customer service in order to keep costs as low as possible.
  5. Regular and dependable attendance.
  6. Maintain a neat, clean and uncluttered work area.

Inventory Accuracy

  1. Assist GM & PA Managers solve inventory problems.
  2. Implement and carry out inventory control procedures for all necessary departments.
  3. Carry out daily/weekly physical cycle counts.
  4. Work with dealership to conduct annual physical count.
  5. Demonstrate an ability to maintain accurate and current inventory records.
  6. As assigned, assist in updating and validating all electronic and physical inventory control systems available in the dealership.
  7. Work with GM & PA Managers to track accuracy levels for all departments.
  8. Accept direction, follow instructions and work well with others.

Physical Demands

· The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

· Requires the use of both hands.

· Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, handle tools, and lift 50lb. of material.

· Frequently requires the ability to balance and push a 1000lb. motorcycle.

Working Conditions/Environment:

The noise level is usually loud. Potentially exposed to exhaust fumes, other airborne particles, battery acid, gasoline or other toxic materials commonly found in a motor vehicle service department. Bend, stoop, reach, crouch or sit doing computer work for extended periods.
