Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Sarasota, FL. In this role, you will be responsible for processing over 100 vendor invoices per day with a high degree of accuracy. This is a hybrid position located in downtown Sarasota with a 3 days in-office per week schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and audit invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Process over 100 invoices per day in company's Accounts Payable system (Quickbooks or Sage)
  • Resolve any discrepancies by contacting vendors and internal company personnel
  • Ensure invoices, payments, and vendor accounts are properly maintained per company policies
  • Generate weekly payment runs
  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Comply with financial policies and procedures
  • File and store invoices and supporting docs

Requirements:

  • 3+ years experience in Accounts Payable role, high volume invoice processing required
  • Proficient with Quickbooks or Sage accounting software
  • Knowledge of accounts payable best practices and procedures
  • Accuracy and efficiency in managing high volume of payments
  • Strong data entry and reconciliation skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization skills
  • Able to work independently in an office environment 3 days per week
  • Sarasota residency

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:

  • the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
