SUMMARY:

Oversees the maintenance of the manufacturing databases, preparation of weekly production schedules, capacity requirements, and requisitioning of all materials required to support production at LAP and worldwide facilities. Position also requires the oversight of various subsystems and procedures as required to perform the activities outlined above. Oversees the creation and distribution of in-house labels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the creation and distribution of weekly production schedules for 24 departments.
  • Oversees the creation and distribution of in-house labels.
  • Determines weekly personnel requirements to support schedules.
  • Oversees requisitioning of materials to meet inventory and production objectives.
  • Reviews and modifies monthly forecast.
  • Oversees day-to-day manufacturing database maintenance including; OPC codes, EOQs, routings, MPS demand, forecast and consumption time fences, BOMs, and ECOs.
  • Oversees the maintenance of the NPO and "Art Received" databases.
  • Assists in preparing department budgets.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly manages five employees in the Production Information Department and 4 employees in the Digital Graphics Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; and a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, supervisors, employees, and outside software vendor.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Design software; Inventory software; Manufacturing software; Order processing systems; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

APICS certificate is a plus.
