Facilities Manager

The Chabad Jewish Community Campus in Pacific Palisades is seeking a full time Facilities Manager for a large, bustling campus that is home to a variety of social service and educational programs for infants and children, teens, adults, families with special needs, seniors and more. Part of the worldwide Chabad movement, we strive to create a warm and inviting place where people from all walks of life—regardless of background, affiliation or observance—feel welcome and at home. The Facilities Manager maintains all aspects of the campus to ensure that our programs have the necessary physical environments to fulfill their mission.
Responsibilities:
1) Manage and maintain the entire campus, which includes a school, synagogue, event space, multiple housing locations and vehicles.
2) Report to Executive Directors, and support all program directors with facility needs; distribute work orders and prioritize most urgent requests.
3) Supervise and direct a maintenance team (3 direct reports); oversee and interact with security staff, independent contractors and many outside vendors.
4) Oversee all maintenance, repairs and construction projects.
5) Oversee and maintain all facility systems, including but not limited to: phones, computers, WIFI, alarm system, cameras, key entrance, generator, fire alarms, smoke alarms, sprinkler system, HVAC; and create a system for regular maintenance and upkeep of all systems.
6) Oversee inventory, ordering and purchasing of all necessary supplies and equipment.
7) Oversee and direct set up for all events that take place on campus; and create an organizational manual for setting up events.
8) Manage upkeep of all Chabad vehicles, registration and sale of vehicles when necessary.
9) Manage facilities budget and approve vendor invoices processing.
10) Create and manage a calendar of events and schedule for all of the above activities, be familiar with all activities taking place on campus at all times, and implement systems and guidelines to have a proactive approach to ensure work orders are completed in a timely manner.
Requirements:
a) Passion for providing exceptional service, leading a team and serving the organization’s mission.
b) 2+ years maintenance/grounds-keeping experience.
c) 2+ years of experience supervising others.
d) Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
e) Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, MS Word, Excel.
f) Detail-oriented and organized, with experience at creating effective systems; experience with using management software for maintenance orders a plus.
g) Bi-lingual English and Spanish.
h) General knowledge of facility systems such as phone systems, computers, WIFI, alarm system, cameras, key entrance, generator, fire alarms, smoke alarms, sprinkler system, HVAC, etc.
i) Must have a valid driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage.
