Main Function: Manages and oversees the CCPG Multicultural Gambling Prevention Program. Coordinates with other community partners to integrate gambling awareness. Collects and maintains data and completes required reports to funders. Develops and delivers educational presentations and outreach opportunities to external partners and organizations to promote awareness, referrals, and community engagement. They will report directly to the Senior Director of Programs and Services and will work as part of a team. (FTE)


The goal of this program is to design and promote activities that help inform our efforts to understand the culturally based motivation to gamble and increase protective factors within communities to decrease the harm associated with gambling. CCPG will partner with five (5) community organizations that support special populations. CCPG plans to build rapport, strengthen relationships with communities and create transformational change. CCPG will support all organizations in building capacity and training confident leaders that can educate the communities they support.


Essential Job Function:

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing CCPG’s Multicultural Problem Gambling Prevention Program

Design and promote activities that identify culturally based motivation to gamble, raise awareness and increase capacity around gambling related harm.

Provide outreach, engagement and consultation about gambling related harm and resources to organizations that support special populations.

Facilitation of needs assessment and ongoing data collection efforts to evaluate the gaps in prevention, treatment, and recovery services.

Coordinate quarterly meetings with all contracted organizations and support them in implementing program deliverables.

Demonstrates expertise in developing program materials and delivering educational presentations on gambling related harm along with other CCPG staff.

Participates proactively within interdisciplinary teams to ensure the highest quality programs and to promote CCPG sponsored events and activities.

Develops/maintains positive personal and agency relationships with all stakeholders including referral sources, community resources and funders.

Track and maintain records and files on programmatic activities, ensuring that all necessary paperwork is maintained and stored appropriately.

Work with the Senior Director of Programs and Services to improve processes and to ensure materials are effectively produced, assessed, and reinforced.

Prepares for, sets up, delivers information, and completes reports of outreach tabling events and other events in the community.

Review research to determine appropriate populations for additional outreach; set an annual action plan.

Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum bachelor’s degree in Community/ Public Health Education, Social Work or Human Services

Background in DEI or working towards DEI certification, and/or experience working with special populations

Understanding of the field of gambling harm as well as relationship to other co-occurring issues

Understanding of the gambling specific resources for support in the state of Connecticut

Possesses appropriate licensure or certification or wiliness to become certified.

Knowledge of prevention including understanding of the 7 prevention strategies for community change and the Strategic Prevention Framework Model preferred.

Excellent verbal communication skills.
