In alignment with the Women and Gender Resource Action Center (WGRAC) and Queer Resource Center (QRC) missions and the educational mission of the college, the Training and Program Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing educational programs and workshops on issues related to women’s empowerment, gender equity, women’s rights, intersectionality, oppression, LGBTQIA+ inclusion and equity, as well as gender-based harassment and violence prevention. The coordinator is a member of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Team, comprised of WGRAC, the QRC, the Office of Title IX, and the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA). The coordinator, as a Confidential Employee, receives gender-based violence related disclosures and reports from campus members. The coordinator offers primary prevention training in alignment with Trinity College’s Green Dot Violence Prevention Strategy and serves as a campus LGBTQ+ Safe Zone member. They seek to empower students via leadership development, educational programming, and advocacy while advising WGRAC facilitated student-led organizations. In this dual role, the coordinator also provides assistance and support for QRC programs, training and education initiatives, and aids in supporting and empowering campus LGBTQ+ and ally students, faculty, and staff.

Primary Responsibilities Include: Assists the WGRAC and LGBTQ+ Life Directors with programming, training, education initiatives, and other duties as needed (Time split: 50% WGRAC, 50% QRC) Creates, organizes, implements, and evaluates quality educational programming in alignment with the WGRAC and QRC missions with student input and collaboration Advises student organizations and student staff as assigned by or in collaboration with the WGRAC and QRC directors Builds relationships and collaborates across campus and off-campus with student organizations, academic departments, staff, administration, area non-profits, and educational institutions to further WGRAC and QRC missions and visibility Participates as a member of the Sexual Assault Resource Team (SART), serves as a member of the Green Dot Team, serves as a visible and active member of the Trinity LGBTQ+ Safe Zone program, and represents WGRAC and the QRC on and off campus as needed Provides general consultation, advocacy, and referrals to students as needed Assists with supervision of QRC and WGRAC student staff, volunteers, and spaces as needed Promotes and supports initiatives of the Office of DEI as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned and based on departmental need. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Policy & Law, Social Work, Counseling, or Women, Gender, & Sexuality Studies or related field and 2-3 years of relevant work experience in a Higher Education or non-profit setting Certification as a sexual assault counselor via the Counselor Advocacy Training course, administered by the YWCA Sexual Assault Crisis Services (SACS); or the willingness to be trained and certified upon hire Certification as a Green Dot trainer; or the willingness to be trained and certified upon hire Extensive experience in creating, organizing, publicizing, and implementing programs on a college campus Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Excellent presentation and training skills Experience addressing issues related to campus culture including, sexism, racism, heterosexism, cissexism, and other forms of oppression and discrimination Experience and comfort with one-on-one consultation and working with student organizations Cultural sensitivity and awareness; ease in building relationships with diverse students/ non-students of all backgrounds Excellent level of organization, reliability, initiative, and creativity Excellent level of technical knowledge: Zoom, Teams, Word, Power Point, Excel, and other Microsoft Suite programs, social media platforms, and other tools such as Canva, Prezi, etc. Ability to work with supervision; independently; and in a team Proficiency in a second language is desired but is not required. A valid driver’s license is necessary for this role.
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Public Policy & Law, Social Work, Counseling, or related field and 2-3 years of relevant work experience in a Higher Education or non-profit setting
