Hello, my name is Thomas Gillitzer and I am a Recruiter with The Fountain Group.  We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a Procurement Manager for a prominent client of ours. Details for the position are as follows:

 

Job Description:

  • Accountable for the day-to-day operation of the transportation procurement function.
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing management of operations plans for the department that are in line with and support overall business objectives.
  • Conducts department internal audits and implements remedies to achieve conformance with transportation procurement policies, procedures, and quality specifications.
  • Manages budget and Client acquisition for transportation procurement and ensures expenses stay within budget parameters by implementing cost controls.
  • Provides input to transportation procurement objectives and communicates objectives to staff. Oversees department's performance against objectives.
  • Experience in regulated shipping or special shipping, i.e. cold chain/temp controlled shipments – a plus
  • Summarizes issues and actions taken on escalated problems for management and executes resolutions.
  • ERP experience with SAP or Oracle and 3PL vendors/suppliers.
