A background in dentistry or orthodontics is not a requirement, however a successful candidate must be able to adapt to a new vocabulary and technology quickly. In the dental healthcare industry this position is called an Observation Coordinator.

Job summary: To educate patients in our observation program and answer questions about future orthodontic treatment options. They will have the main responsibility of managing the patient observation pool. Must be knowledgeable of all aspects of a treatment consultation, finances, scheduling, and records.

The ideal candidate is self managed, self motivated, results oriented, and committed to providing excellent experiences for our new patients. This is a relationship building/sales position and is perfect for an friendly, positive, focused and influential professional willing to make a difference in our patients' lives. This position enjoys a high level of autonomy, responsibility, and accountability, working alongside the some of the best team members and doctors in orthodontics. A background in customer service and hospitality excellence will allow a person to succeed in this position. We will be able to train a motivated individual in the terminology of the dental workplace.

Daily activities will include initial patient interviews, taking photographs, recording examination findings, presenting recommended treatment plans, discussing financial options, coordinating treatment with referring doctors if necessary, follow-up with future patients, and answering phone calls.

This is a full time position 4 days a week: Monday through Thursday. It is a long-term position for a career oriented person. The compensation package includes paid time off, holidays, health insurance, continuing education, and a generous 401k profit sharing plan.

 

Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients to the orthodontic office
- Schedule and confirm appointments for orthodontic treatments
- Explain treatment plans, procedures, and costs to patients
- Coordinate with insurance companies to verify coverage and submit claims
- Assist in financial arrangements and discuss payment options with patients
- Maintain accurate patient records and update information as needed
- Collaborate with the orthodontic team to ensure smooth workflow and patient satisfaction
- Provide exceptional customer service and address patient inquiries or concerns

- Must has an upbeat, positive personality that is focused on Patient Care and Teamwork

Experience:

- Previous experience in customer service preferred
- Knowledge of orthodontic terminology, procedures, and treatment plans is not necessary but will help with the learning curve
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Ability to build rapport and trust with people
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour based on experience
