Seeking a full-time Field Crew Rodman/Instrument Person to join our team The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be able to multitask, set priorities, be a self-starter, and maintain positive relationships with clients, customers, and other employees.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a wide variety of surveys including residential construction/mortgage, ALTA, as-built, boundary, bathymetric/hydrographic, construction, development, environmental, residential/commercial, and topographic surveys.
  • Maintain equipment including robots/total stations, GPS/GNSS surveying gear, field surveying supplies, trucks, tools, and other equipment as needed.
  • Travel from job to job, working as a team and/or independently, and maintain communication with the main office.
  • Perform computations in the field with minimal support from the office, including horizontal & vertical locations, plan interpretation, slope percentages, etc.
  • Understand and interpret data with lateral and logical thinking.
  • Utilize technology confidently and effectively.
  • Solve problems and conduct analysis with attention to detail.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Organize and manage time efficiently.
  • Work as a team and lead the team to complete projects successfully.
  • Operate a motor vehicle with a valid license and clean driving history.
  • Use basic office suite computer skills.
  • Maintain a safety-conscious approach.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to carry survey equipment/supplies in remote, rural, or urban environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly walk, stand, crouch, or stoop.
  • Walk over rough, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions.

 

Experience Required:

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of computerized design and drafting experience, or relevant education or training.
  • AutoCAD 3D experience preferred.
  • FEMA Elevation Certificate experience is a plus.

Additional Information:

  • This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, M-F with occasional weekend or overtime work required.
  • Pay is based on experience and will be increased following a 90-day evaluation.
  • Applicants must be dependable, punctual, and confident in learning and performing detailed tasks.
