Full-Time Position

Field Service Technician

The Field Service Technician provides support at the customer’s location, including troubleshooting, setup, and installation of systems and equipment. Daily work logs and service tickets must be accurate, and the position involves some end-user and owner training. Technicians will interact face-to-face with customers regularly, offering training and product support. The role includes physical labor, such as lifting equipment.

Technicians should possess strong product knowledge and the ability to “think outside the box” when necessary. Experience with various computer programs (Outlook, Adobe, Word, Excel) is beneficial. Applicants must be able to work independently with minimal direct supervision. Project management skills are helpful, as many projects require coordinating equipment from multiple vendors to ensure proper installation and functionality. Technicians should be able to track and stay updated on multiple concurrent tasks.

General Tasks:

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair units in the field.
  • Maintain records of service calls, training, and expenses.
  • Provide on-call emergency service as required and communicate with the department manager while in the field.
  • Educate customers on preventive maintenance, safety regulations, and offer general customer service both over the phone and in person.
  • Complete and stay current on all Continuing Education (CE) certifications and training programs.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 1 year of previous service experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong understanding of water, gas, and electric utilities.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Strong computer skills (Office, Outlook, Adobe, Word).
  • Ability to travel.
  • Mandatory overtime may be required.
  • Alternating Saturdays may be required.
  • Clear driving record.
  • U.S. D.O.T Medical License required.

Compensation Package:

  • Pay is commensurate with prior work experience and job performance.
  • Paid vacation becomes effective after a 60-day probationary period.
  • Compensation includes an incentive bonus structure on a project-to-project basis.
