POSITION SUMMARY:
Maintenance/Mechanic is responsible for all maintenance functions necessary to ensure efficient plant operations: manufacturing, utility services, boilers, refrigeration, compressed air, electrical services, and building maintenance

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Propose and monitor key performance indicators in accordance with Best Maintenance Practices.

  • Facilitate the evolution/refinement of Maintenance activities to minimize planned and unplanned downtime (PM, changeovers, etc.). Performance I/O check out start-up and commissioning on site. Works with production line installations.

  • Assists in the machinery fabrication shop to develop and retrofit control systems for packaging machinery.

  • Must be willing to enthusiastically engage in assignments and take ownership in the work that is performed.

  • Assists with new line instillations, and new project start ups

  • Lead, train, prioritize, assist and direct work flow and methods for the Maintenance Team.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of Utilities, Facilities or Production equipment maintenance. CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) or Direct experience with Maintenance Planning and/or supervision preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong technical and leadership skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to lead, motivate and develop others; Able to organize, coordinate, and direct users and teams.

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Understanding of regulatory requirements for food safety. Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Asset Management Software, Breakdown, Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance Practices, PM Optimization

  • Preventive Maintenance Technologies including (infrared, ultrasonic, vibration analysis, etc.)

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Proficient of computer programs such as Microsoft Office.

  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with industrial controls, including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, relays, contactors and starters and multiple field instrumentation devices.

  • Familiarity with food packaging machinery is a plus, but a good solid knowledge and problem solving abilities combined with excellent programming skills will make the candidate very successful.

  • Ability to adjust quickly to changing demands. Excellent organizational skills.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the cost drivers of Maintenance in manufacturing operations.

  • Familiarity with Food processing and packaging machinery.

Education and/or Experience:

Associates Degree from four-year college or university accredited by U.S Department of Education is preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
