Position Overview: The ideal candidate is excited about fabricating/assembling and testing product prototypes, and preferably has experience with electro-mechanical design and/or Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The right person prefers a fast-paced environment, has a “roll up the sleeves to accomplish objectives” aptitude, and a “make it happen” attitude.

The Product Technician will work closely with the engineers and software developers to assemble, fabricate, set up, test, install, and service units for experiments, complete required documentation, and provide recommendations based on observations and performance monitoring. As part of the role, the Engineering Technician will troubleshoot IoT devices.

We have developed an in-house 3D printing prototyping laboratory to make unique test systems, and we assemble product prototypes. We offer growth potential and opportunities to learn new skills from an experienced team of successful entrepreneurs.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including engineering, sales, and product management, to escalate and resolve product issues.
  • Document service activities, including service reports, technical documentation, and customer communications promptly.
  • On occasion, provide product support on-site at partner facilities in the United States by conducting diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades to address technical issues and ensure the continued operation of hardware and software products.
  • Adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities for product improvement or enhancement based on customer feedback and own observations.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. or equivalent in electromechanical technology, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or relevant military/business experience in electro-mechanical repair. Relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Experience and ability to understand, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electromechanical assemblies.
  • 3+ years of experience in product engineering or technical support, preferably in the technology industry.
  • Strong technical proficiency in both hardware and software troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • Experience with installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware devices.
  • Proficiency in software configuration, and troubleshooting on various platforms (Windows, Linux, etc.).
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Other Considerations:

  • Position is based in the company’s Marlborough, MA office (not remote or hybrid).
  • Willing to travel as needed although the position is predominantly in the office.
