POSITION SUMMARY:


The Continuous Improvement Coordinator will analyze and validate the data transmitted to SAP (production and warehouse module) by the reporting system for the plant production lines. This role will focus on the delivery/generation of reports and daily, weekly and indicators. Will validate real-time use of the system in correlation to the key operation processes. Will assist the Organization in identifying business needs, meeting business goals/objectives, and assist with business enhancements regarding manufacturing processes, equipment, manufacturing layouts, lean manufacturing, project management, and providing manufacturing production support. This individual must also be highly organized, innovative, and resourceful serving to provide support in many process improvement activities to include in-process defect reduction, scrap reduction, set-up / changeover reduction, productivity improvement, and overall improvement in OEE.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Compiles and formats the information generated by the reporting system in SAP for each of the manufacturing orders worked on in the system.
  • Downloads and performs information analysis in the SAP production and warehouse module to obtain reports and master data of production orders.
  • Makes comparisons between the production reports and the information compiled by the reporting system and sent to SAP.
  • Generates daily reports on the general efficiency and the use of the reporting system in each of the production lines.
  • Provides daily monitoring of the entry of information in the reporting system by the production lines, assignment of manufacturing orders, consumption batches, production additions, etc.
  • Daily monitoring of the network connections of the equipment integrated into the plant reporting system.
  • Daily checking of the line boards to ensure they are always displaying information.
  • Validates production processes and key processes to guarantee the correct and real-time flow of information generated by the reporting system to SAP.
  • Generation of manuals and instructions to support the use of the reporting system for operational areas, supervision and management.
  • Validates operating logic by proposing improvements to the system at the infrastructure level, production processes and general functionalities.
  • Conducts training in the use of the reporting system and data reading in SAP depending on the needs of the areas due to new revenue, improvements in the use of the system or follow-up training (operational, supervisory and management).
  • Guarantees that the reporting generated by the system to SAP or within the same application shows the correct and real information for the production processes (production reports, downtime, order reports, OEE, etc.).
  • Recommends new approaches, continual improvements in efficiency, cost containment, and automation.
  • Coordinates new product development activities to ensure successful gate acceptance.
  • Develop, update, and own the continuous improvement processes, metrics, and any associated tools.
  • Participates in tactical planning for the continuous improvement work to be done in concert with Plant
  • Manager and leadership team.
  • Contributes to the development and promotion of standard work and production basics across the Organization.
  • Coordinate and facilitate shop floor Kaizens to improve KPI’s.
  • Responsible for proposing and managing projects including tracking costs, assessing resources, and achieving deadline requirements.
  • Perform value stream analysis for the manufacturing plant.
  • Understands and supports training in Lean Production Systems.
  • Supports investigation and implementation of counter measures to any internal and external quality or safety concerns.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Personally, exhibits a strong commitment to dependability and reliability and hold a high degree of integrity, understanding the importance of sensitive and/or confidential information.
  • Contributes to the overall efficient operation of the Production department and fosters a team environment; participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.


EDUCATION EXPERIENCE:

  • A bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering or related discipline experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Lean manufacturing processing, or an equivalent combination of education,
  • training, and experience.
  • Green Belt preferred or ability to obtain within the first twelve months of employment.
  • Six Sigma certification preferred or ability to obtain within the first twelve months of employment.
  • Knowledge of the ADDIE model is highly desirable.


GENERAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for relaying data (verbally and in-writing) between other employees and vendors/suppliers
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to maintain accurate, detailed records that will be audited periodically.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once with tight deadlines. High-level of comfort in working with numbers and spreadsheets; ability to create statistical reports.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be a self-starter and have the desire and ability to take ownership and responsibility with little direction.
  • Ability to be adaptable, flexible, and advance existing skill sets to be able to serve future office needs in additional capacities.

SOFTWARE/COMPUTER SKILLS EXPERIENCE:

  • General knowledge of basic hardware and software and uses of a variety of different computer operating systems such as Microsoft Office Work, Excel, Outlook, Google Workspace, and web-site software
  • Has the ability to learn new software systems and data management systems quickly.
  • Prior SAP experience is preferred.
  • Proficient keyboarding and typing skills.

include long days, occasional evening weekends; regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this

position; position may require travel to meetings, conferences, workshops or other facilities
