Key Responsibilities

The Project Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Quality Department by overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of clinical quality assurance and enhancement initiatives. This position acts as a vital link between clinical and departmental leaders, facilitating effective communication and collaboration on quality and performance improvement projects.

Core Duties:

  1. Facilitates and leads clinical performance improvement teams and task forces.
  2. Communicates project requirements and updates effectively among stakeholders.
  3. Engages key stakeholders and subject matter experts throughout the project lifecycle to address planning and resolution of issues.
  4. Implements changes in standards, policies, and procedures based on quality improvement findings.
  5. Demonstrates expertise in project management methodologies, including project lifecycle, Gantt charts, change management, and risk assessment.
  6. Utilizes performance improvement frameworks and tools such as rapid cycle improvement, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  7. Conducts literature reviews to identify evidence-based practices relevant to performance improvement projects.
  8. Monitors local and national trends that influence quality improvement standards.
  9. Designs and updates educational resources to promote staff engagement in enhancing care quality and patient safety.
  10. Provides professional guidance on process improvement techniques and statistical analysis to designated personnel responsible for quality activities.
  11. Conducts concurrent and retrospective chart reviews and analyses for selected departmental and organizational indicators.
  12. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of organizational goals and objectives.
  13. Understands Federal and State healthcare regulations pertinent to medical center operations.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this role, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively. The employee frequently needs to stand, walk, use hands for various tasks, and reach with arms. Occasionally, the employee may lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Qualifications and Educational Background

  1. Bachelor's degree required, with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience or equivalent in healthcare administration.
  2. Master's degree in a health services-related field is preferred.
  3. Familiarity with project management practices and a solid understanding of quality and performance improvement principles.
  4. Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) is desirable.
  5. At least 2 years of experience in quality improvement or a related field is preferred.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  7. Knowledge of current public reporting requirements and relevant metrics.
