Position Summary:  As the Personal Lines Department Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the Personal Lines department including yacht/marine ensuring that we are providing the highest level of client service while increasing retention and growth of the Personal Lines department by engaging new clients and building strong relationships in the community.   The Personal Lines Department Manager will be focused on supervisory responsibilities of personnel including participating in the selection of new team members and annual performance reviews.  Responsibilities will include planning, marketing, assigning and directing work, resolving challenges and offering solutions to all issues that arise in the department.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Effectively communicate with prospects, support staff and clients on a day-to-day basis to service their insurance risk needs.
  • Implement Agency policy as established.
  • Develop strategies to accomplish the Personal Lines department’s business plan growth objectives.
  • Exploit opportunities to cross-sell to existing clients and develop strategies to reach new clients to increase quoting activity.
  • Participate in community organizations/events to promote the Agency and prospect for new clients.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and customer service by improving ongoing service delivery methods.
  • Provide Agency efficiency through process improvement efforts.
  • Offer continuing service and advice to Personal Lines clients.
  • Direct supervision of Personal Lines support staff.
  • Give technical expertise to the Personal Lines support staff.
  • Develop, implement and monitor the training of the Personal Lines support staff.
  • Participate in the selection of new Personal Lines support employees.
  • Review subordinates’ performances and conduct their formal performance appraisals.
  • Support full utilization of automation system.
  • Stay informed regarding insurance technical knowledge, market trends, Agency automation, Company information and other operating techniques.
  • Represent yourself and BGS in a professional manner with the highest integrity in all of your interactions.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years (5) experience in similar position is required
  • Must have active Florida 2-20 license
  • Must have complete and thorough understanding of Personal Lines underwriting and coverages in the Florida marketplace
  • Must be a self-starter, imaginative and creative with excellent communication skills both verbal and written
