Mental Health Therapist

· Mental Health Therapist play a vital role in treating mental health disorders for both children and adults in order to help improve their overall well-being. Mental Health Therapist use their analytic skills to apply evidence-based care and best practices in order to ensure clients get the care and treatment they need. In so doing, Mental Health Therapist primarily work with clients on a one to one basis, and also work collaboratively as part of a team by coordinating with their Supervisor, Clinical Director, the Psychiatric Department, Targeted Case Managers, School Personnel, and Medical Professionals, etc.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
GENERAL DUTIES
Screening
· Determine if an individual is appropriate and eligible for admission.
· Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and agency policies governing mental health services.
Intake
· Analyze all relevant information to perform administrative and assessment procedures for admitting client for services.
· Ensure signed consents are obtained including from outside sources in order to protect client confidentiality and rights.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Master’s Degree from an accredited university or college with a major in the field of counseling, social work, psychology, special education or a related human service field. Preferences will be given to LMHC, LMFT, or LCSW licensed by the State of Florida.
Experience
One (1) year post-Master’s degree experience in clinical atmosphere, preferably in mental health.
Special
Local travel may be required. Schedules are subject to change, depending on the client’s needs.
